TEMPO.CO, Jakarta - Minister of Energy and Mineral Resources Bahlil Lahadalia has confirmed that fuel oil stocks in Central Java are secure throughout the 2025 Eid al-Fitr mudik, or homecoming, season. He reassured travelers along the North Coast (Pantura) route that fuel availability is not a concern.

“Thankfully, our energy reserves in Central Java will last 18 to 21 days. Those celebrating Eid can do so with ease,” Bahlil said during a visit to Rest Area 379 A in Batang, Central Java, as quoted in a written statement on Thursday, March 20.

Bahlil noted that current fuel stocks are sufficient to meet demand for 18 to 21 days. Coverage days for each fuel type are as follows:

  • Pertalite: 12.5 days
  • Pertamax: 17 days
  • Solar (diesel): 18.6 days
  • Pertamina Dex: 43.7 days
  • Avtur (aviation fuel): 29.2 days

Fuel stock stability in Central Java is supported by a robust distribution network. Seven technical installations or fuel distribution facilities (IT/FT) and five Aircraft Refueling Depots (DPPU) in the region ensure seamless supply operations.

Additionally, 254 Public Fuel Filling Stations (SPBU) will operate 24/7, backed by 15 supplementary fuel service units and Pertamina kiosks, plus 19 fuel product delivery units, all on standby to handle the demand surge during the mudik period. An additional 60 storage tanks have been deployed to boost distribution efficiency.

Not just securing supply, Bahlil emphasized that the government also is committed to monitoring fuel quality. Through the Research and Development Center for Oil and Gas Technology (LEMIGAS), continuous quality checks ensure that distributed fuel meets established standards.

“We want the public and consumers to feel confident that the fuel quality they receive from Pertamina aligns with the price they pay,” Bahlil stated.

He encouraged the public to use fuel prudently during the mudik season and follow SPBU regulations to ensure smooth distribution. With these proactive measures, the government is optimistic that this year’s Eid homecoming travel will proceed without significant energy supply issues.
