0131 GMT - Singapore's FTSE Straits Times Index rises 0.4% to 3998.28 thanks partly to signs of U.S. economic strength. U.S. government data released overnight showed the U.S. economy grew at a slightly faster pace in 4Q than previously estimated. Investors are now awaiting core personal-consumption-expenditures price data, the Fed's preferred inflation gauge, due later in the day, Commerzbank Research analysts say in a research report. Among best performers, Singtel rises 0.9%, Wilmar International adds 1.2% and Singapore Exchange is up 0.8%.(ronnie.harui@wsj.com)
