3月28日，港股恒大汽车股价盘中异动拉升，涨幅一度突破50%，单日成交额近5000万港元。此前，该公司于3月26日深夜发布公告称，董事会未发现股价波动的具体原因，也不存在需披露以避免市场虚假信息的情况。
3月26日下午，恒大汽车股价经历剧烈震荡，盘中最高涨幅达236.13%，最终收涨74.79%至0.208港元/股。市场猜测此次暴涨与华望汽车技术（广州）有限公司（广汽集团GH项目）可能收购其南沙工厂的传闻有关。但广汽集团当天迅速澄清，明确表示未与恒大汽车就南沙工厂收购进行任何接洽，并强调华望汽车将优先使用广汽现有产能。
受辟谣消息影响，恒大汽车股价在3月27日大幅回调，盘中最大跌幅达30.29%，最终收盘跌近30%。当前恒大汽车仍深陷债务危机，2024年上半年营收同比暴跌75.17%，净亏损超202亿元，且未能找到战略投资者缓解流动性压力。其南沙工厂自2020年建成以来未实际投产，且因母公司恒大集团债务问题，相关附属公司已进入破产重整程序。
