Western Union (WU) partnered with HCLTech to use its artificial intelligence-powered tools in transitioning to a platform operating model, the companies said Monday.
HCLTech, now Western Union's largest preferred partner, will support the company's efforts to enhance platform and channel capabilities, improve efficiency through AI-powered automation, and strengthen enterprise-wide infrastructure, the companies said.
As part of the partnership, Western Union will set up an advanced technology center in Hyderabad, India, with HCLTech to expand its global technology footprint, foster innovation, and develop talent, the companies added.
Shares of Western Union were down 1.1% in recent trading.
