A Coalition government will junk federal Labor’s $2.2 billion commitment to Victoria’s Suburban Rail Loop megaproject and instead prioritise $1.5 billion to finish Melbourne’s Airport Rail Link.
The funds being announced by Opposition Leader Peter Dutton on Tuesday will be matched by the state opposition leader Brad Battin, lifting the total airport rail funding to $13 billion once existing funding it taken into account.
