CHICAGO, April 1 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans were steady-to-higher at U.S. Midwest processing plants and river elevators on Tuesday on slow farmer sales, while bids at interior elevators were mostly flat, grain merchants said.
* Chicago Board of Trade corn and soybean futures climbed on Tuesday, but farmer selling remained minimal as prices remain near recent lows. Many growers are also focused on spring planting preparations instead of on marketing grain.
* The U.S. Department of Agriculture on Monday projected a larger-than-expected increase in U.S. corn acreage in 2025 while soybean plantings were seen down from last year.
* Markets remain in edge ahead of the expected announcement by the Trump Administration of broad tariffs on imports into the United States. The tariffs are expected to trigger retaliatory trade actions that are likely to target U.S. agricultural goods.
* CBOT May corn CK25 was up 4-3/4 cents near midday on Tuesday at $4.62 a bushel while May soybeans SK25 were up 16-1/4 cents at $10.31 a bushel.
