Tariffs Threaten VF's Turnaround -- Market Talk

Dow Jones

1831 ET - VF, which owns brands including North Face, Vans and Timberland, has been waging a turnaround. President Trump's sweeping new tariff plan that calls for the U.S. to impose a 10% tariff on all imports and much higher rates for some nations, will likely make its revitalization efforts more difficult. During its fiscal 2024, VF's products were sourced from independent manufacturers primarily located in Asia, the company said in its most recent annual filing with the Securities and Exchange Commission. A slew of events, including 34% duties on China, could hurt the company's ability to source or deliver products, as well as its profitability, it says. Shares fall 5.2% in late trading.
