0710 GMT - The Malaysian real-estate investment trust sector may maintain a steady performance in 1Q, supported by stable interest rates and strong earnings growth, CIMB Securities analysts Lim Yue Jia and Ivy Ng Lee Fang say in a note. Sector earnings are projected to rise 11% on-quarter in 1Q, driven by new asset contributions, the reopening of refurbished areas, and festive spending, they reckon. Despite potential headwinds from subsidy reforms in 2H, global uncertainties and recent market volatility, the sector is poised to benefit from rising tourism, boosted by government incentives ahead of Visit Malaysia 2026, they add. CIMB maintains a neutral rating on Malaysian REITs and pegs Axis Real Estate Investment Trust and Sunway REIT as its top picks. (yingxian.wong@wsj.com)
