CHICAGO, April 2 (Reuters) - Spot basis bids for corn and soybeans were mixed in the U.S. Midwest on Wednesday as farmer selling remained light and industry players awaited details on broad tariffs promised by U.S. President Donald Trump.
* Corn basis bids declined at an Ohio elevator and rose at an Ohio rail terminal.
* Soy bids fell at an Ohio elevator and an Illinois river terminal.
* Low grain and soy prices have deterred farmer selling.
* Trump is expected to impose sweeping new reciprocal tariffs on global trading partners at a White House Rose Garden announcement ceremony scheduled for 4 p.m. Eastern Time (2000 GMT).
* Experts warn the move will risk cost increases and retaliation from trading partners on U.S. agricultural goods.
* CBOT May corn futures CK25 settled down 4 cents at $4.57-3/4, while May soybeans SK25 settled 4-3/4 cents lower at $10.29-1/2 a bushel.
