Phoenix Motor (PEV), a manufacturer of heavy-duty transit buses, said Wednesday that it has integrated InductEV's wireless inductive charging technology into its medium-duty electric shuttle bus, a first for a commercially available vehicle of this type.

Phoenix said the integration would improve the operational efficiency and versatility of electric shuttle buses, allowing for more sustainable fleet operations.

Wireless charging is now available as an option for vehicles purchased from Phoenix, and the technology can also be applied to other vehicles in Phoenix's lineup, such as electric trucks and Type A school buses, the company said.

Shares of Phoenix Motor were up 16% in recent Wednesday premarket activity.
