Shares of Waton Financial have tripled in their first day of trading under the ticker WTF on the Nasdaq Capital Market.
The stock was changing hands at $13.20 in the afternoon trading session after debuting at an initial public offering price of $4. Trading was halted several times throughout the day.
The Hong Kong-based provider of securities brokerage and financial technology services said Tuesday morning that it was offering 4.375 million shares at $4 apiece, along with an option for underwriters to buy up to about 656,250 shares.
The initial public offering is expected to close on Wednesday and generate about $17.5 million in gross proceeds for Waton.
