Norwegian Air Shuttle Passenger Numbers Rose in March

Norwegian Air Shuttle's passenger numbers rose in March compared with the same month last year.

The airline said Friday that it carried 1.59 million passengers in March, up 2.8% on year, and up from 1.29 million passengers in February.

Norwegian's capacity in March rose 13% on year while traffic was up 8%.

At the company's Wideroe regional airline, total passengers in March rose 19% on year to 328,385.

"March is the last month of the low season, and we look forward to a busy Easter travel period," Chief Executive Geir Karlsen said.

"Our summer program swings into action this week... Initial bookings for summer travel are strong," he added.
