Woolworths slashed its prices in March, so the gap between its groceries and those at discounter Aldi fell to its lowest level in two years amid intense pressure on market share and from politicians and regulators.
Research by Wall Street investment bank JPMorgan found the price premium at smaller rival Coles also fell compared with the German discounter.
