Virgin board overhaul brings in Qatar executive, ex-Macquarie chairman

Virgin Australia has appointed veteran banker Peter Warne to its board as part of preparations to rejoin the ASX, more than two years after first announcing that the former Macquarie chairman would become a director.

As part of a broader overhaul of the board, the airline’s controlling shareholder Bain Capital has formally appointed Warne, former Goldman Sachs banker Pippa Downes and one of the private equity giant’s partners, Charles Lawson, as non-executive directors of the company.
