Varex Imaging (VREX) shares fell 16% in recent Friday trading after it said the China Ministry of Commerce announced an anti-dumping investigation into imports of some medical CT X-ray tubes originating in the US and India.
The company has yet to receive any formal notice of the MOFCOM investigation, according to a regulatory filing.
Varex stated that it produces medical CT X-ray tubes and inserts in the US and ships them to China but is not involved in making these in India.
The company added that it believes it complies with competition laws and will cooperate in the investigation should it receive a formal notice.
