Hyatt Hotels (H) plans to add 100 hotels in India over the next five years, Bloomberg reported Friday, citing Hyatt India and Southwest Asia Managing Director Sunjae Sharma.

The planned properties will be in addition to the 50 hotels that Hyatt already operates in India, which has become the world's fourth biggest hospitality market due to increased domestic travel post-pandemic, the report said, citing Sharma.

Of the planned 100 hotels, six will be opened this year in cities like Kochi and Jaipur, according to Sharma.

Hyatt shares were 3.4% higher in recent premarket activity.
