* TARIFF: British finance minister Rachel Reeves will hold tariff crisis talks with bosses from Hargreaves Lansdown HRGV.SG, Legal & General LGEN.L, Lloyds Banking Group LLOY.L and M&G MNG.L, Sky News reported.
* ANGLO AMERICAN: Peabody Energy BTU.N said it was reviewing all options regarding its $3.78 billion acquisition agreement with Anglo American AAL.L after an ignition event at Moranbah North mine.
* OFFSHORE GAS: The US has revoked two licenses for the development of offshore natural gas projects between Trinidad and Tobago and Venezuela, which were held by Shell SHEL.L, BP BP.L, and Trinidad's National Gas Company NGCTT.UL, Trinidad's Prime Minister Stuart Young said.
* ANGLO AMERICAN: Anglo American AAL.L Chile CEO Patricio Hidalgo said Chile needs to speed up its permitting processes to expand copper mining ahead of an impending supply gap.
* OIL: Oil prices dropped to their lowest in more than four years in early trade on Wednesday on looming demand concerns and a rising supply outlook.* GOLD: Gold prices rose as the dollar weakened and investors flocked to safe-haven gold as fears of a recession mount.* METALS: Base metal prices in China fell, with copper hitting an eight-month low, on concerns over the looming 104% U.S. import tariff on Chinese goods.
* The UK blue-chip index .FTSE closed up 2.7%, biggest daily jump since March 2022, amid hopes that the U.S. might soften its stance on some of its aggressive import tariffs..
