Brookdale Senior Living (BKD) said Monday that Chief Executive and President Lucinda Baier stepped down, effective Sunday.
The company named Chairman Denise Warren as interim CEO as it looks for a permanent replacement.
Brookdale said it expects its Q1 adjusted EBITDA to surpass both its own and analysts' expectations. The company expects to report positive adjusted free cash flow for the quarter and projects that revenue per available room will top its internal expectations, it said.
Brookdale plans to report Q1 results May 6.
The company's shares were up 7.1% in recent premarket activity.
