智通财经APP获悉，加拿大政府周二宣布，允许汽车制造商在维持本国生产的前提下，免税进口部分美国产汽车和卡车。此举将为在安大略省设有装配厂、同时也从美国大量进口车辆的公司如通用汽车(GM.US)和Stellantis NV(STLA.US)带来一定缓解。
上周，加拿大总理马克·卡尼政府对美国产汽车加征报复性关税。而此次新政策的出台，显示出加方在维持强硬立场的同时，也着眼于保护本国制造业与企业运营的灵活性。
与此同时，加拿大政府还宣布，对于从美国进口、用于本地制造、加工、食品饮料包装等领域的商品，以及部分涉及公共卫生与国家安全的物资，将给予为期六个月的关税豁免期。这些豁免措施将涵盖医院、长期护理机构和消防部门等关键公共机构所需的部分进口品。
当前，加拿大对价值约600亿美元的美国产品征收25%的报复性关税，涵盖范围广泛，包括钢铁、铝材、工具、计算机以及多类消费品。此次对部分产品的豁免，将为依赖美国产品作为关键原材料的加拿大企业提供喘息空间，帮助其保持竞争力。
加拿大财政部在一份新闻稿中表示，这些关税豁免旨在在保护国家利益与民生需求之间取得平衡，同时确保关键领域的稳定运作。
