路透底特律4月16日 - 福特汽车F.N 公司的一位高管周三表示，该公司在中国的业务（包括从中国的出口）去年录得9亿美元的息税前利润。
福特汽车副董事长兼前首席财务官John Lawler罕见地透露了福特汽车在中国的盈利情况。福特汽车一直在中国进行重组，以遏制财务亏损。
Lawler在一次分析师会议上说："当我在2016年离开中国时，那时的中国还是一个数字化社会。它进步了，他们在电池技术方面处于领先地位。他们在研发方面处于领先地位。他们拥有业内最低的成本结构。" Lawler曾经担任福特中国的主管。
随着比亚迪002594.SZ等中国汽车制造商、电动车巨头特斯拉 TSLA.O的销售占据了主导地位，福特和通用汽车GM.N等传统知名车企在该地区面临着日益严峻的环境。
这两家底特律公司都在努力扭转在华销售下滑的局面，福特目前正专注于将中国作为出口枢纽，通用汽车则关闭了在华工厂，以消化50亿美元的重组成本。
美国总统特朗普征收的关税使福特及其同行的中国业务变得更加复杂。福特的Lincoln Nautilus是在中国组装，去年在美国售出36,544辆，同比增长50%。(完)
