American West Metals (ASX:AW1) said a thick interval of copper sulfide visually identified in historical drilling supports the potential for a new discovery at the Storm copper project in Canada, according to a Wednesday Australian bourse filing.
The reinterpretation of historical electromagnetic surveys and induced polarization surveys identified numerous large-scale targets for potential copper mineralization.
The firm is planning a new helicopter-borne mobile magneto-telluric survey to see deeper and detect a broader electromagnetic spectrum than previous geophysical surveys, to generate additional targets.
It is also planning a drilling program to test priority regional targets and to conduct follow-up drilling at copper discoveries made in 2024.
