ServiceNow Seen in Crosshairs of Federal Spending Cuts, Tariffs -- Market Talk

13:08 ET -- Soft data like sentiment and opinions appear to be slumping more than actual hard enterprise spending data across the software landscape, JPMorgan analysts say in a research note. But with partner feedback showing customer concerns over trade wars and government funding cuts, it seems ServiceNow could face a more sluggish environment in the coming months and quarters, the analysts say. They note that five out of 11 partners they spoke with saw ServiceNow projects or purchases paused or deferred due to tariffs or federal cutbacks, especially for new initiatives not already funded in full-year budgets. Four of those partners observed a worse tone of business in the first quarter compared to the fourth, the analysts add. (kelly.cloonan@wsj.com)
