908 Devices (MASS) said Tuesday it received a $2 million order from the Texas Department of Public Safety for MX908 handheld mass spectrometry devices to aid in the detection of synthetic opioids, counterfeit pills, and other illegal drugs.
The devices, which were shipped in April, will be deployed throughout Texas to be used by agencies such as the Criminal Investigations Division and Narcotics Enforcement, the company said.
The order is financed through the Community Oriented Policing Services grant, a federally funded, state-administered program, 908 Devices said.
Shares of the company were up about 13% in recent trading.
