2025 年 4 月 24 日，美国华盛顿特区，国际货币基金组织（IMF）总裁克里斯塔利娜・格奥尔基耶娃在 2025 年国际货币基金组织与世界银行春季会议期间举行新闻发布会

　　针对美国财政部长斯科特・贝森特指责国际货币基金组织（IMF）存在 “使命蔓延” 的言论，国际货币基金组织总裁克里斯塔利娜・格奥尔基耶娃指出，人们对该组织的角色和举措 “存在一点误解”。

　　在国际货币基金组织和世界银行年度春季会议的间隙，贝森特指责这两家跨国基金机构将 “过多的时间和资源投入到气候变化、性别以及社会问题的工作上…… 这些问题并非国际货币基金组织的使命所在”。

　　在周四的一场新闻发布会上，格奥尔基耶娃表示：“人们认为我们有气候问题专家。但我们没有。那不是我们的工作。”

　　格奥尔基耶娃以岛国巴巴多斯为例称：“对于那些极易受到极端天气事件影响的国家，我们（提供的）政策建议严格限定在宏观经济方面。”
