Sharp (TYO:6753) will merge its wholly-owned subsidiary, AIoT Cloud Inc., into its operations, effective July 1, according to a Wednesday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The move aims to boost Sharp's cloud and data services business.
Prior to the merger, Sharp will waive up to 1.45 billion yen in claims against AIoT Cloud, which currently has a negative net worth.
