Amplify Energy (AMPY) and Juniper Capital Advisors agreed to terminate their planned merger agreement due to "extraordinary" volatility in the market, Amplify said late Friday.
Juniper is receiving $800,000 in lieu of termination fee, it said.
The oil and natural gas company said it will continue to evaluate strategic alternatives to maximize value to stockholders.
The shares were up more than 13% in extended trading.
