Trump Media & Technology Group (DJT) faces scrutiny from Democratic Senator Elizabeth Warren over plans to launch exchange-traded funds.
Trump Media is majority-owned by President Donald Trump, a company founder. Warren is the ranking member of the Senate's banking committee.
All Securities and Exchange Commission decisions and actions involving Trump Media and the president's "financial interests should be carefully managed to ensure that they are free from undue political interference and influence from the president and his administration," Warren said in a letter Friday to SEC Chairman Paul Atkins.
Warren asked Atkins to preserve all SEC communications and records related to agreements between Trump Media and the companies involved in the investment products.
"Rather than acting to stop actual corruption on the stock market and the rampant, illegal naked short selling of stocks, Senator Warren protects hedge fund bosses and her rich donors while harassing and intimidating America-First companies," Trump Media said Monday in an email statement to MT Newswires.
