Scotts Miracle-Gro (SMG) said Monday it sees double-digit point-of-sale unit gains through H1 of the fiscal year.

During an appearance on CNBC Mad Money last Friday, Chairman and Chief Executive Jim Hagedorn said the company is driving robust consumer takeaway in the run-up to the peak lawn and garden season, according to the company.

Initially, Hagedorn indicated that sales saw a double-digit growth for H1 of the fiscal year, and then explained that POS units were actually up double digits, the company said.

Scotts Miracle-Gro is expected to release financial results for Q2 and H1 of the fiscal year before markets open on Wednesday.

The company's shares rose 4.2% in recent Monday trading.
