The World Trade Organization has dismissed the European Union's claim that China violated intellectual property rules by blocking telecom patent protections, Reuters reported Thursday.
While the panel acknowledged China's use of anti-suit injunctions, it found no rule breach except on transparency, according to the report. China failed to disclose a court ruling involving a major smartphone firm and ignored some EU info requests.
The EU plans to appeal via the Multi-Party Appeal Arbitration Arrangement, Reuters wrote. China says it will respond per trade rules.
