Uni-Asia's (SGX:CHJ) bulk carrier, M/V Glengyle, owned by wholly-owned subsidiary Mable Bulkship through Uni-Asia Shipping, collided with a container ship, KMTC Surabaya while approaching Ho Chi Minh Port, Vietnam.
Both the crew and the vessels have been reported safe, according to a filing with the Singapore Exchange on Sunday.
However, the ship's hull and cargo holds sustained damage while an amount of fuel oil was lost overboard.
The company immediately involved the local coast guard to mitigate a potential environmental impact while the ship has been moved to shallow waters as a precautionary measure.
