Planet Labs PBC (PL) said Thursday it has entered a three-year contract with the geospatial intelligence firm EMDYN to provide satellite data for intelligence and security purposes.
Financial terms of the contract were not disclosed.
Under the partnership, imagery from Planet Labs satellites will be used to monitor activity across regions, including border movements, infrastructure developments, and changes in maritime patterns, the company said.
Integrating the imagery with other date streams in its platform will allow EMDYN to provide early warning systems in defense operations, national infrastructure, counter-terrorism, and risk mitigation, the company said.
Shares of Planet Labs were nearly 7% higher in recent trading.
