Mizuho Leasing (TYO:8425) said its unit ML Estate will acquire 14.85% of Nippon Steel Kowa Real Estate's shares from Nippon Steel (TYO:5401), with no change to its voting rights as the shares are non-voting, according to a Thursday filing on the Tokyo Stock Exchange.
The deal comes as Mizuho Leasing ends a 2021 alliance with the developer and signs a new capital and business partnership to deepen cooperation.
The companies have jointly developed logistics sites and worked on solar-powered facilities and a virtual PPA agreement.
Mizuho Leasing also plans to relocate its headquarters in 2026 to a building developed by Nippon Steel Kowa Real Estate in Tokyo's Toranomon area.
