Banco Santander-Chile's Q1 Earnings, Operating Income Rise

Banco Santander-Chile (BSAC) reported Q1 earnings Wednesday of $0.62 per diluted American depositary receipt, up from $0.26 a year earlier.

Four analysts polled by FactSet expected $0.59.

Operating income for the quarter was 729.29 billion Chilean pesos ($766.7 million), compared with 547.56 billion pesos a year earlier.

Four analysts surveyed by FactSet expected 753.63 billion pesos.

Shares of the company rose 3.1% in recent premarket activity.
