Total income for the quarter ended March 25 was 15.54 billion euros compared with 15.05 billion euros a year earlier.
Analysts surveyed by FactSet expected 15.41 billion euros.
The company reiterated its 2025 revenue guidance of about 62 billion euros. Analysts polled by FactSet expect 62.12 billion euros.
Banco Santander shares were down 4.9% in recent premarket activity.
