美国亚马逊公司28日使用美国联合发射联盟公司运载火箭发射其卫星互联网“柯伊伯计划”的首批量产卫星。

美国东部时间28日19时01分（北京时间29日7时01分），联合发射联盟公司的“宇宙神5”型火箭搭载首批27颗卫星从佛罗里达州卡纳维拉尔角太空军基地发射升空。联合发射联盟公司此后确认，火箭已将卫星送入近地轨道。

本次发射原计划4月9日进行，后因天气原因推迟。“柯伊伯计划”是亚马逊旗下的近地轨道卫星宽带网络项目，此前已于2023年10月发射了2颗原型卫星。该计划目标是在近地轨道部署超过3200颗卫星，为全球用户提供快速、可靠的互联网服务。

亚马逊公司表示，发射首批量产卫星标志着“柯伊伯计划”迈出重要一步。下一步该公司将使用“宇宙神5”型火箭等继续部署“柯伊伯计划”卫星。此外，亚马逊公司还将与阿丽亚娜航天公司、蓝色起源公司和太空探索技术公司等私企合作，开展卫星发射任务。

“柯伊伯计划”副总裁拉吉夫·巴迪亚尔在声明中表示，亚马逊公司设计了一些最先进的通信卫星，每次发射任务都是增加网络连接容量和覆盖范围的机会。美国媒体报道称，“柯伊伯计划”将与太空探索技术公司的“星链”卫星互联网项目展开竞争。
