Xiaomi's (HKG:1810) market share in China increased 5 percentage points year over year to 19% in the first quarter, the highest in the country, The Standard reported Sunday, citing research firm Canalys.
Shipments surged 40% year over year to 13.3 million units, the strongest among China's top five brands, the report said.
Huawei is at second place with an 18% market share and shipments of 13 million units, the report said.
Oppo and Vivo each saw a 15% market share. Oppo's shipments fell 3% while Vivo's inched up 2%, The Standard said.
Apple saw a 13% market share and shipments of 9.2 million units, down 8% year over year, The Standard reported.
