SiriusPoint adds AIG's Gibson as international CUO

By Rebecca Delaney

April 29 - (The Insurer) - SiriusPoint has appointed Eleanor Gibson as international chief underwriting officer, effective from May 6, the company said on Tuesday.

In her new role, Gibson will be responsible for providing strategic leadership to the underwriting and portfolio management teams across SiriusPoint International.

Based in London, she will report to Rob Gibbs, president and CEO of SiriusPoint International, and Anthony Shapella, group chief underwriting officer.

Gibson joins SiriusPoint following six years at AIG, where she served as credit lines chief underwriting officer with responsibility for global commercial underwriting across trade credit, trade finance, political risk and surety run-off.

Prior to AIG, she was a senior underwriter at Tokio Millennium Re (later acquired by RenaissanceRe).

Earlier this month, AM Best revised its outlooks on SiriusPoint’s rated operating subsidiaries to positive from stable, which it said reflects improvements in the company’s balance sheet strength following recent management actions, including de-risking the investment portfolio and reducing catastrophe exposure.

Fitch Ratings also revised its outlook on SiriusPoint to positive last month.
