Australia's Whitehaven Coal logs 5% sequential fall in third-quarter production

April 29 (Reuters) - Australia's Whitehaven Coal WHC.AX reported a 5% sequential decline in its third-quarter production on Tuesday, primarily due to reduced output from its Narrabri mine in New South Wales and lower production from its Queensland mines.

The country's biggest independent coal miner recorded managed run-of-mine $(ROM)$ coal production of 9.2 million metric tonnes for the three months ended March 31, compared with 9.7 million tonnes reported in the previous quarter.

The production exceeded a Visible Alpha consensus estimate of 8.5 million tonnes.
