据报道援引周一发给员工的一封电子邮件内容称，美国医疗保险和医疗补助服务中心（Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services，简称 CMS）将于6月关闭其民权办公室。

　　关闭该办公室是美国卫生与公众服务部（HHS）部长小罗伯特・F・肯尼迪大规模重组其部门的一部分，此次重组使该机构规模缩小了约20%。　　

　　美国医疗保险和医疗补助服务中心的平等机会与民权办公室负责为该中心的工作人员制定民权合规政策，并就促进这些权利的相关事宜向机构领导层提供建议。

　　根据周一的那封电子邮件，从6月开始，原本由该办公室处理的关于合理便利措施的申请，预计将由管理人员来处理。
