Equinor's Exposure to Halted U.S. Wind Project Could Rise -- Market Talk

Dow Jones

0609 GMT - Equinor says its exposure to its halted offshore U.S. wind project Empire Wind is around $1.5 billion to $2 billion, but this doesn't take into account tax impacts or negotiations and settlements, RBC Capital Markets analysts Biraj Borkhataria and Adnan Dhanani write. The Norwegian energy company's current exposure reflects project financing guarantees and termination fees paid to suppliers, they say. Equinor said Wednesday that it continues to engage with the U.S. administration on the project and is considering its legal options. (adam.whittaker@wsj.com)
