Erste Group Bank's Results Are Unexciting -- Market Talk

0654 GMT - Erste Group Bank posted an unexciting set of results, which are broadly in line with expectations, Keefe, Bruyette & Woods says after the Austrian bank posted its first-quarter results. They expect the focus on the call will be on Santander Bank Polska after Erste confirmed talks to acquire a stake in the lender, analysts Hugo Cruz and Ben Maher write in a in a research note. Erste has mentioned its interest in expanding into Poland, which has weighed on shares. The analysts also point to the small upgrade in fee guidance for the year, which is now seen at more than 5% against around 5% earlier, though consensus stands around 7%. (elena.vardon@wsj.com)
