智通财经APP获悉，据报道，默沙东(MRK.US)正寻求在特拉华州投资10亿美元建立工厂，扩大其在美国的制造业务。随着针对行业的关税迫在眉睫，默沙东成为最新一家增加美国国内投资的制药公司。媒体周二报道称，该工厂将生产一种新的、用户友好的Keytruda配方，Keytruda是该公司的重磅癌症治疗药物；它还将成为该公司在美国的第一个Keytruda内部生产基地，确保美国患者获得国内生产的药物。
该公司此前表示，由于中美关税战，预计2025年将因已宣布的关税损失 2 亿美元。这一估计并未考虑美国总统特朗普兑现其长期承诺的可能性，即在现有关税的基础上对进口至美国的药品征收额外关税。这意味着在欧洲拥有大量生产基地的默沙东未来可能面临额外的关税成本。
Keytruda在2024年为默沙东创造近300亿美元收入，已成为癌症治疗的基石和制药史上最畅销产品。但这款占默沙东近半数营收的药物，预计将在2028年面临低价竞争和政府定价谈判。默沙东预计将于今年晚些时候推出一款更易于使用的Keytruda版本，以期保住原研药30%至40%的市场份额。
