Dongfeng Nissan dismissed reports claiming it plans to close its Wuhan factory in March 2026, YiCai Global reported Wednesday.
The Dongfeng Motor (HKG:0489)-Nissan Motor (TYO:7201) joint venture said operations at the plant are running normally and it remains committed to advancing new energy and intelligent vehicle technologies, according to the report.
Despite the plant's low-capacity utilization, Dongfeng Nissan plans to invest 10 billion yuan over three years, expand research and development, and boost its lineup of new energy vehicles to 10 models by 2027, YiCai Global wrote.
