Microsoft is raising prices on its Xbox consoles, games and accessories, citing market conditions and rising development costs.

The company said Thursday it raised the recommended retailer price of its Xbox Series X to $599.99, a 20% increase. The cheapest Xbox Series S will be sold for $379.99, a 27% jump.

Headsets and controllers will now start at $64.99. Xbox prices are also rising in Europe, the U.K., and Australia. Prices on some Xbox games will increase to $79.99 from $69.99 starting during the holidays, the company said.

"We understand that these changes are challenging, and they were made with careful consideration given market conditions and the rising cost of development," Microsoft said in a statement.

Tariffs could lead to increased supply chain challenges and cost volatility, Microsoft noted in its earnings report Wednesday.
