2025 年 5 月 3 日，格雷格・阿贝尔在内布拉斯加州奥马哈举行的伯克希尔・哈撒韦公司年度股东大会上发言。

　　伯克希尔・哈撒韦能源公司董事长格雷格・阿贝尔表示，在美国，野火风险 “不会消失”。

　　阿贝尔称，伯克希尔应对这些风险的方法包括维护基础设施，以及在恶劣天气或火势蔓延逼近时切断电源。

　　阿贝尔说：“作为一个团队，我们已经清楚地认识到，我们必须让这些资产断电。”

　　他还表示，在野火灾害中，伯克希尔不能充当 “最后保险人”。

　　伯克希尔的投资组合涵盖保险和公用事业领域的持股。这意味着野火造成的损失可能会给保险业务带来亏损，而且如果火灾发生在伯克希尔旗下公用事业公司运营的地区，还会引发法律责任方面的担忧。

　　巴菲特似乎对公用事业业务的未来表示担忧。

　　“美国的每个地区都需要电力，而且会有一些地方，私营的电力公用事业公司在那里运营是不明智的…… 在我们的民主体制下，这个问题将如何解决，我们拭目以待。” 巴菲特在谈到法律责任方面的担忧时说道。

　　他补充道：“我们不会去试图解决那些无法解决的问题。”

　　该公司第一季度报告显示，因南加州野火造成了 11 亿美元的损失。
