Australian supermarket chain Woolworths post more than 3% rise in third-quarter sales

May 1 (Reuters) - Australian supermarket chain Woolworths WOW.AX reported a 3.2% gain in third-quarter sales on Thursday, underpinned by robust performance across all its major segments.

The country's largest retailer posted total group sales of A$17.31 billion ($11.09 billion) for the three months ended March 31, compared to A$16.77 billion a year ago. This comes above a Visible Alpha consensus of A$16.64 billion.
