BlockBeats News, May 1st, Musk stated that he is considering sending his US government efficiency team to the Federal Reserve and suggested that there may be wasteful spending when the Federal Reserve is renovating its headquarters building.

Musk said: "Ultimately, this is all taxpayer money, and I think we should definitely—absolutely—look at whether the Federal Reserve really spent $2.5 billion on their interior designer."

As of 2022, the Federal Reserve's renovation expenses for its headquarters have swollen to $2.5 billion over the years, with the Federal Reserve attributing this figure to the increase in construction materials and labor costs since the project began in 2021, coinciding with the onset of rapid inflation. Musk said: "It's surprising." (FXStreet)
