　　对于拥有盖可保险公司（GEICO）且在阿吉特・贾恩领导下开展庞大保险业务的伯克希尔・哈撒韦公司来说，通常发展平稳的汽车保险业务所发生的变化意义重大。

　　在伯克希尔・哈撒韦公司的年度会议上，当被问及自动驾驶汽车的兴起将会或可能会如何改变汽车保险的成本时，贾恩的回答很谨慎。

　　贾恩说：“我认为我们将会看到一个重大转变，由于自动驾驶技术的存在，发生并需要理赔的事故数量将大幅下降。”

　　“但另一方面，每次发生事故时的维修成本，以及将车辆修复到事故前状态的成本将会大幅上升，因为汽车中所采用的技术含量很高。

　　“我认为，就提供保险而言，这两个变量将如何相互作用，目前仍是一个悬而未决的问题。”

　　在疫情结束后，随着汽车价格飙升，上路的人越来越多，汽车保险的成本也大幅上涨。自动驾驶汽车带来的更安全的道路状况无疑是保险领域的一个有利因素。但实际上，这种安全是有代价的。
