据知情人士透露，美联储监管部门主任迈克尔·吉布森(Michael Gibson)将于年底离职，此前他已在美联储任职三十多年。
吉布森于1992年以经济学家的身份加入美联储，并在2008年金融危机后，在前美联储理事丹尼尔·塔鲁洛(Daniel Tarullo)的领导下晋升。知情人士称，吉布森周五已告知部分员工自己将从美联储退休的计划。

在先后在研究部门和国际金融部门任职后，吉布森现在领导着一个负责监督和监控华尔街贷款机构的部门。该部门负责实施美联储的压力测试——这是一项年度健康检查，用于评估大型银行的抗风险能力，并判断它们在严重经济衰退期间是否能够持续放贷。
吉布森宣布离职之际，美联储负责监管事务的副主席提名人米歇尔・鲍曼(Michelle Bowman)正等待参议院的确认。参议院银行委员会计划于下周二就她的提名进行投票。
预计鲍曼对银行业监管的态度将比她的前任迈克尔・巴尔(Michael Barr)更为宽松，巴尔已于今年早些时候辞去了这一职务。鲍曼一直尖锐批评2023年推出的一项具有里程碑意义的要求银行持有更多资本金的计划。
