在伯克希尔・哈撒韦公司下一任首席执行官格雷格・阿贝尔看来，这笔庞大的资金对于这家企业集团而言也是一项资产。
在周六的年度股东大会上，当被问及公司的现金储备以及未来的投资机会时，阿贝尔表示，公司希望拥有 “坚如磐石的资产负债表”。
阿贝尔补充道：“我们目前拥有大量现金，但拥有这些现金是一项巨大的资产。”
在伯克希尔过去两份季度报告中，其不断增加的现金储备一直是最受关注的焦点。2024 年底，其现金持有量增至 3340 亿美元，而到今年第一季度末则达到了 3470 亿美元。
在周六的会议早些时候，巴菲特谈到了就配置这些资金而言，伯克希尔的庞大规模所带来的一些挑战。
仅以美国市场为例，市值超过伯克希尔现金储备的公司不到 30 家。而且考虑到收购一家公司超过 10% 的股份会面临监管方面的挑战，对于伯克希尔来说，要配置这些资金在计算上变得相当困难。
阿贝尔说：“我们确实将其视为一项战略资产，它使我们能够经受住困难时期，同时也不依赖于任何人。” 他还补充道：“我们将保持伯克希尔的本色，并且为了伯克希尔的成功，我们永远不会依赖于银行或其他任何一方。”
